Luca Rocchini is an award winner director of photography based in Dublin, Ireland.
He graduated with First Class Honours at the National Film School, IADT, Dublin.

Since 2005, Luca has obtained more than 40 credits between dramas, commercials, music videos and documentaries. Many of his collaborations have screened in festivals around the world; most notably the documentaries Children of Manila & The Cemetery People - cactifilms.net/children-manila.html - have won several awards and the short film Small Change - smallchangeshort.com - for which he achieved an Award for Best Cinematography at the NOHEMI/KODAK Encounter Film Festival 2010. The short also won an IFTA Irish Film & TV Award 2011, the Critic Circle Award at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2011, Best Debut at the Cork Film Festival 2010, and is in competition in several international festivals like the Sundance Film Festival 2011.

Recently, Luca has completed the production of the documentary Nightdancers for Still Films/Irish Film Board in Uganda, worked on two different projects for the Irish Art Council (one in Russia) with Paddy Jolley and is currently working on the production of several feature films, documentaries and web-series.

Luca is an experienced operator of digital and film cameras like RED, ARRI SR3 & SR2, Sony EX3 & EX1 and Canon 5D & 7D. He owns the new Canon XF300 (BBC approved - HD 4:2:2), a 35mm adapter, a 16mm Eclair ACL2, a Zigma Super8 and a lighting kit. He is an experienced camera operator, focus puller/1st assistant camera and still photographer. He has also a passion for photography, video art and documentary making.

He is open to new collaborations and to work closely with directors in order to achieve the right look for each different project.
